10 reasons why J K Rowling is one of my favourite humans

1. Let's just get this one out of the way first...she wrote my favourite books series of all time. There just aren't the words. What I love the most is that J K Rowling is the biggest potterhead of all, she is absolutely consumed by this world that she has created and we all love her for that.

This is her detailed plan for The Goblet of Fire:

2. She just keeps on giving to her loyal Potter fans. After becomming a bajillionnaire she could have easily buggered off to relax on her own private island for the next decade but not our Jo...oh no...she gave us Pottermore, there's Harry Potter and the Cursed Child coming to the stage this summer, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them comes to our screens in November this year and we're all still hoping and praying and waving our fake plastic wands to summon the much sought after encyclopaedia that has been on the Potter rumour mill for some time.

3. She absolutely slays it on twitter. Her witty comebacks and sarcastic observations of popular culture make her a firm favourite on my feed.
4. She came from nothing. Try to avoid hearing the slow music that often plays when an X Factor contestant looks all sombre and talks about their dead dog before launching into an awful rendition of an Adele track, but J K's story has not been an easy one and I am thankful that she shares that time of her life so openly with us all.
5. She has opinions and she is not afraid to voice them, particularly when it comes to political situations such as the refugee crisis in Europe, the upcoming EU referendum, the NHS and government spending and Scottish Independence.
6. Her work for Lumos, the children's charity that she founded, is inspiring. Her charitable donations even saw her knocked off the Forbes rich list!

7. She uses her platform as a public figure to promote equality and draw attention to LGBT and racial equality.

8. She is very open about her past struggles with mental health and is always willing to help her fans out too.

9. Although most famous for the Harry Potter series, her other novels - The Casual Vacancy and the "Robert Galbraith" crime series - are really good too.
