Just because it's a Sunday and I'm feeling patriotic...
1. How many cups of tea do you have a day? + How many sugars?
Only 3 or 4 and I'm trying to go without sugar (if I need a little sweet fix, I'll add a bit of honey instead). That doesn't mean that I'll only have 3 or 4 hot drinks a day however, usually I have a cup of coffee and some sort of fruit tea throughout the day too.
2. Favourite part of your roast?
Has to be the roast potatoes (home made of course!) Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Coming in second is the meat, third the Yorkshire pudding and, fourth the stuffing and finally the veg (nobody really gets excited about the veggies do they?!)
3. Favourite dunking biscuit?
Chocolate covered Hob Nobs, perfect density to withstand a couple of dunks combining that with the chocolate melting it's the ideal biscuit with your afternoon cuppa.
4. Favourite quintessentially British pastime?
Moaning about the weather. Tutting loudly but never speaking up. Queueing. Apologising to inanimate objects that I walk into. Being generally a bit awkward. Patiently waiting for my Hogwarts letter to come in the post. Cynicism. Sarcasm. An undying love for classic British sitcoms; The Vicar of Dibley, French and Saunders, Ab Fab, Men Behaving Badly, Gimme Gimme Gimme. Being disgusted at a poorly made cup of tea. Watching cricket. Walks in the countryside.
5. Favourite word?
Tosser. A very British name for someone who is just a bit of an arse (not quite as venomous as wanker).
6. Cockney rhyme slang?
Apples and Pears. Dog and Bone. Bubble Barf. Tea Leaf. I've watched heaps of Guy Ritchie films so I'm pretty cock-a-nee.
7. Favourite sweet?
White chocolate mice, jazzies or lemon sherbets.
8. What would your pub be called?
The Feisty Maiden (sounds a bit brothel-esque I realise)
9. No.1 British person?
I simply can't name just one, I flat out refuse, this is my blog post so I make up the rules. I'll provide you a top ten list (in no particular order):
1. Dame Helen Mirren
2. Julie Walters
3. Emma Thompson
4. Sir David Attenborough
5. Helena Bonham Carter
6. JK Rowling
7. John Lennon
8. Alan Rickman
9. Stephen Fry
10. Bill Bailey
10. Favourite shop / restaurant?
If I am limiting it to shops that originate from Britain, not simply shops that we have in Britain e.g. H&M (Swedish) or Zara (Spanish) I'd have to say Harrods. It's just rather iconic and quintessentially British which suits this tag.
Favourite restaurant/ food is fish & chips from the small seaside town of Aldeburgh in my home county of Suffolk, smothered in salt and vinegar with a can of fizzy pop to wash it down. Perfection.
11. What british song pops into your head?
Baggy Trousers- Madness
12. Marmite?
For sure. I love its yeasty weirdness.
